Even without that a DO isn't a reunion to meet and greet. You can't have a meaningful discussion with too many people.

Also general rule of thumb if you put a limit on participants , you have a bigger chance of success.

I agree on all points, even though the first offical NYC DO was with 25+ participants and it was definitely more of a meet and greet. The second one (which Dan attended) was much more intimate and conducive to dialogue.

Tempting. If I can find a ride in from NYC on that Sunday (assuming you're aiming for a Sunday) after 3pm... Just for the record, DDFers (myself included) are much less impressive in person

I could just envision this going through peoples mind. That ( weirdo , chusid , schlob , bum - you get the gist) is who I'm conversing with and respecting his knowledge and opinions. I think it would be a solid lesson in the pitfalls of labeling others through dress and affiliation.

I was actually quite fascinated at the breadth of types of people I met at the NYC DOs earlier this year.
Always had good conversation and good times. (And good food!)

I think the point I was making and the lesson I was relaying was clear enough, and that I didn't mean anyone or type specifically. Sorry if I'm not that articulate and clear.
