I've been an Amex customer for more than 20 years, never made a late payment, own some Bonvoy cards and a Business Platinum. We charge approximately $50-75,000 monthly and pay in full each month.
This morning I received an email that my credit limit which was 75k was reduced to 3,100. When I called and spoke to an Indian rep and his supervisor, I was told that a charge was made to an associated account and this violated their terms. The charge was for 50k to an apparel company owned by a relative, who unbeknownst to me is listed as living at my address although this is no longer the case. It was a legitimate charge for apparel that we use in our company. There was no opportunity to explain, this is what it is, and they don't give a fig about my long track-record with them.
Two questions - I'm not a classic DD'er - I don't play points, I don't travel the world, I don't have time for any complicated things. Mostly I accumulate points and eventually sell them when I get over 1 million.
1 - Is there anything that can be done?
2 - Which cc would you recommend for a business that does our volume of spending.
