Wow!! I'm selling my Amex stocks ASAP!
People have gotten a lot more than $8.5k off of amex. In any case, this is handled by an insurance ccompany, not amex themselves. People have also gotten a lot more than 8.5k off their credit card insurances.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

I sent them everything they requested and they just keep asking for more. It's so frustrating

1. Bought phone on Amex PRG
2. Approved for another Amex
3. Canceled Amex PRG
4. Phone dropped in water within 90 days of purchase

Does this fit the criteria?

Will stuff damaged in the rain automatically be classified as a natural disaster?

On the claim form they are asking for all my renter policy, agent #,etc. I have an accidentally damaged wall oven that I know my renters will not cover it - will they be contacting my ins company? I don't want to create any issues there.

Getting conflicting info from reps. Anyone have experience with how Amex defines "lost" vs "stolen?

Has anyone filed a return protection claim on glasses?
Does that fall under custom-built or one of a kind as per the exclusions.

Maybe you should check the return protection thread. But here's some past DP's:

Brand new computer desk got a nice sized scratch on the top. Is that the kind of thing that Purchase Protection would work on?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Hmmm... I can probably get the company to ship me a replacement part, but the amount of hours it took to assemble, no way I'm doing it again! Maybe I can get an estimate from someone on installing the replacement part. You think that would work?

Yes
Will they care if the eBay account info doesn't match the cardholder? If the buyer doesn't have an amex card for instance, and wants to buy it with his friends card?

What I would do is get a furniture company to estimate the full repair cost. A friendly custom bookcase guy or closet guy may do it. You want the all in price, which includes labor and materials.
Send that estimate in.
