Has anyone filed for a stolen item and wasn't asked for a police report?

had waterproof drywall installed and i was lied to about the color, how ugly it is and the upkeep of it. havent paid the bill yet because i was trying to work with the company first but they are not willing to do anything about. i would love to have them come and just take it all back. if i pay for it now on an amex can i use purchase protection to claim anything? or am i out of luck?

thanks

I would pay with an amex and then try to dispute the charge. Try telling the company that you're just going to dispute it first, they may relent and come to an agreement.

Ok thanks. They can come and Just unscrew it and take it back but they can also do that with the above mentioned items as well so I guess it probably won't make a diff.

I already tried negotiating and they sent me to collections. They offered 10% off. I asked for 50% . If I tell them I'm gonna dispute it then they probably won't even let me charge it to a cc and will demand a check.
Any other ideas?

Thinking of picking up a new macbook on eBay. Would 5% with the ink buying GCS be enough of a reason not to use the amex.

Theft or lost, how does that work?
Any proof required?
My daughter lost one earring about 4 weeks after I bought it. I tried my luck and called Amex. Rep said loss is generally not covered but doesn't hurt to put in the claim. Within 48 hours I got a reaponse that they refunded me the entire charge. I was completely 100% honest. I guess it's YMMV

I bought a suit from with my Amex ED card.
As per chasidic custom to close jackets right over left, I gave my suit to a tailor, to close the button hole and make a new hole on the other side. (I have done this many times without an issue)
The tailor really botched it up and made awful new button holes.

Would purchase protection help here?
