Just filed a purchase protection for 2 display cabinets i bought from ashley furniture. The A/C unit warped them and they are pretty unsteady now and need to be disposed of. After I submitted the online claim, they responded a few days later by saying we need a repair cost from an outside company. Never heard of this before.

I bought a suit from with my Amex ED card.
As per chasidic custom to close jackets right over left, I gave my suit to a tailor, to close the button hole and make a new hole on the other side. (I have done this many times without an issue)
The tailor really botched it up and made awful new button holes.

Would purchase protection help here?

Under the EXCLUSIONS section of Purchase Protection, it states:
"…Benefits are not payable if the Covered Incident for which coverage is sought was
directly or indirectly, wholly or partially, contributed to or caused by:…
...9. damage through alteration (including, but not limited to, cutting, sawing and
shaping);..."

I filled a claim and uploaded receipt and police report and Amex purchase protection left me a voice mail saying they had additional questions. Is that normal?

Im assuming the answer is no but ill give it a shot...Bought 2 round trip flights to miami (non refundable) on expedia for after pesach. Got them in january on sale. turns out not able to go, can purchase protection help?
