I guess we know where your next trip is heading to.
Nope, next trip was planned before he posted this, but this will most likely be after that.

I can argue but that's not my point. I was bringing out awareness which was done. sorry if I ruffled your feathers.

Heh. If you think this is ruffled ...

ok thats a game changer.

...for those who are more service-minded. All I was worried about while booking was a real emergency - a broken bone or something like that. As soon as I learned that the owners are reachable and available I was happy.

I don't think the sleeping on a private island is the thought but rather the part that your awake Walking the island and knowing your the only 2 on the whole whole island (600 feet Diameter?)

Well then you missed the entire point...

It seems, we have very different things that appeal to us (like everyone) and I can respect that. I'll relish over your TRs at 5 star hotels, and SFs Island adventures, and enjoy them both while doing my own thing.

Agreed. I was only trying to bring out some awareness that this is really private and what that really means.

Roatan (and Utila) is also the best place in the world to swim with whale sharks in season; no where else are they as predictable and numerous.
Better than Donsol?

Apparently, yes. And obviously much closer and cheaper.

I did it for a day and it was hard.

Imagine you forgot ANYTHING
your like shoot now what¿

You never realize how Needy you are intill you can't get something.

I think it's a GREAT TRIP
just for the people who can handle it.

I actually tend to find the opposite most of the time. Pack all this stuff and once you get to places like that you realize how little you really need.

@Something Fishy , what are your thoughts on spending shabbos here? Too complicated?

My first reaction is that it is indeed too complicated. There are a number of things which are a total-non issue during the week, but are deal-breakers on Shabbos. For example, you need to flip a switch to start an electric pump to flush the toilet. Perfectly fine on a Wednesday; not so much on Shabbos.

I also wonder what the halacha for carrying would be on such an island. Even if you don't plan on carrying outside, the bedrooms are technically in a different building than the rest of the house.

I may be wrong, but I think you can carry throughout the island.

How is it apparent? After all, Donsol is considered the whale shark capital of the world.
Much closer obviously depends on your origin

Because of course we can reach a consensus in a eruv discussion in a random TR thread.
