Absolutely amazing. I think my favorite shot might actually be the stars; ironic for a trip focused on the underwater world

@AJK's three worlds, huh ;D?

Absolutely amazing, and your writing is spectacular as well. As I'm going through this I'm thinking, ok, maybe I can get my wife to deal with no a/c, the plane, the boat, (fat chance on any of those), but all hope was lost when I got to this shot:

Unbelievable. So jealous. This is my favorite trip report. As most guys were saying probably will never get the wife on board with this one.  :'( :'(

say that another million times. simply breathtaking; but with every paragraph i mumbled to myself that my wife would never do this...

Pics are simply breathtaking...from the
Milky Way to the hermit crabs from the stingrey to the drone pics..
Truly amazing.
And like mentioned above, my wife is out. Before we even start the discussion.

What exactly is it that would so turn off your wives...? The non-fanciness of the house? The animals?

If they want privacy and love the ocean I would think these "negatives" would be easily outweighed, no?

This boggles my mind as well. It a private freaking island. I'll pitch a tent if I have to. Clearly I'm low maintenance, and so is DW, because she's on board since day 1.

Different people have different ideas of what they want for a vacation. Some are delighted going to Miami or Israel every year and can't fathom someone going to a place where they don't have a different restaurant to eat in each meal. Others want to go somewhere where they will be pampered and bask in luxury. Others are willing to forgo the luxuries for privacy etc. To each their own.
Feelings don't care about your facts

Contrary to last night, as soon as the sun went down the wind began picking up. It got stronger and stronger, so much so that walking out on the dock was a challenge. But a million stars were twinkling above me, the Milky Way rising in all its grandeur. So off to the end of the dock I went, holding onto my tripod for dear life.

The view took my breath away:

Absolutely without a doubt, my favorite pic of the entire trip. Ye the half under half above water shot is awesome but this tops it. Amazing tr and as always, you don't disappoint with the pics. Happy Anniversary Fishies!

Yes, it's a great shot, but I think I still like the Maui one better.

This is my philosophy as well, but I suppose I can understand this side too:

The animals. The small boats and planes.
+ A stingrey in the 100 miles around the island.

Oh well. More available dates for me then ;D.
