I am flying Business on Delta 747 with my wife and 2 kids where would we be better off sitting, upstairs or downstairs?

I'm doing Delta biz (JFK-TLV) this summer. I was disappointed to hear they don't rate very high on the biz class rankings. But the price (with the 50% Amex xfer bonus) was right and I value the fact that it's direct from JFK. Continental sounds great but there was no SaverPass availability and I'd rather not schlep to EWR (if I can't get a ride with a friend of family member then the big car service fair would have to factor in to the cost effectiveness).

I am flying Business on Delta 747 with my wife and 2 kids where would we be better off sitting, upstairs or downstairs?

I have no prior experience, but based on the little I've read about it I chose upstairs seats.

I was in tlv-JFK in a 747 delta flight, it wasn't bad. I'm sure continental is much better.

For some reason, the 2 times I went with delta; from TLV was very crowded and from JFK it was extremely empty, like 1 person for every 8 seats.

I flew on Co new lie flat from TLV-EWR. Check in was a real pain in TLV. The flight and seats were really a pleasure. Very comfortable! better than Austrian that I took going. (austrian I felt like i was falling off the seats) However, ELAL 777 isnt bad either.

Row 1 A-K
Row 9 D,E,F,J,K
Row 10 A,B (The best seats)

Might be upstairs in the front as well but I am not 100% sure

Why is 10 A,B The best seats?
If I am flying w/ 3 people and 1 infant wouldn't  9 D,E,F be the best option?

10 A&B is the best for 2 people and an infant (lots of legroom).... Sorry that I am not being specific to your case

So in my case do u think that it is worth it to split up.
We are 2 adults 1 child and 1 infant.
