Cloud backup
« on: July 19, 2017, 06:35:56 AM »
Anyone have suggestions for a good cloud backup service plan for 1tb (1000 gb) of storage or unlimited including videos. i prefer it to be automatic backup and good for more than one device. i would also like it to be able to share easily. very important is for it to be reasonably priced.

Have you looked into Crashplan?

Also, whomever you use, check if they have the option To send you the data on a hard drive in the even if a crash, as downloading a terabyte can take days, if you are at all able to...

I think Backblaze does it for free if you return the drive to them...

We use microsoft onedrive. If you buy MS office 360, it comes with a year of one drive service. We bought it on amazon for $65 I think.

I use both CrashPlan and Ibackup. Don't solely rely just on one cloud backup provider. Murphy's Law can still happen....

What is crashplan situation regarding actual restore drive?
Jews ≠ Zionists
Palestinians ≠ Hamas
Satmar ≠ SatmarHQ

Hello,

Thank you for being a CrashPlan® for Home customer. We're honored that you’ve trusted us to protect your data.

It's because of this trust that we want you to know that we have shifted our business strategy to focus on the enterprise and small business segments. This means that over the next 14 months we will be exiting the consumer market and you must choose another option for data backup before your subscription expires. We are committed to providing you with an easy and efficient transition.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN TO YOU
We will honor your existing CrashPlan for Home subscription, keeping your data safe, as always, until your current subscription expires.

To allow you time to transition to a new backup solution, we've extended your subscription (at no cost to you) by 60 days. Your new subscription expiration date is 08/04/2018.

YOUR CHOICES
Your first step is to consider the options below, available exclusively for CrashPlan for Home customers. Once you make your selection, no further action is required until your new expiration date. We will send you reminders well before your CrashPlan for Home subscription ends.
Jews ≠ Zionists
Palestinians ≠ Hamas
Satmar ≠ SatmarHQ

The problem is that Carbonite doesn't give unlimited storage. Are there any other options?
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Backblaze, why not them?
If it's not free shipping it's not worth it.

This is annoying.

although 12 months of 75% off the small business plan is not too shabby.
