Author Topic: BOFA Alaska Airlines Visa Master Thread (Read 570760 times)

applied 2BM when it was available 3 weeks ago. Both got approved on phone although the online approval status showed the 2nd card approved a week later. I have received both cards and the first 25k miles were posted on each card. So I have 50k miles currently. I have spent $1k on both cards and statement closed on one card yesterday, the other one will close 3 days later. I am hoping for 25k additional bonus from both cards.

I might close them both to avoid AF if or once the additional 25k miles on both cards are posted.

Can we close the card immediately after receiving bonus miles to avoid annual fee?
Or even better, convert an Alaska card to a Better Balance Card to get $120 cash annually.
Will that risk the miles (already deposited to Alaska account) be canceled?

I heard other banks can take away the miles if you don't keep the account for 6 months, such as Chase bank take away united miles. Also, recently Fidelity took away the deposited UA/AA miles for people not keeping the funds.

I did keep one open since they agreed to refund the AF, but I realized that I have no more use for the miles

And yes, you can likely convert into the Better Balance card. Worked for me last year.

My statement closed on 7th, today is 11th but the additional 25k miles is still not posted on my Alaska account. I do see 50k bonus miles on my card statement though.

did you do more than 2bm that you got 50k on statement?

Yes, although you may have to push them to find the card. When I called in, they weren't aware of it at first.

They were suppose to shut down my Hawaiin card to approve me for the AS and now I see I just got hit with AF on my Hawaiin.

They just charged the AF on all my four AS cards the shut down last week.
