That's not true.  Or "-1" or however you say it. No. Wrong.

I have two cards.

1. They both closed on the 11th.
2. AF posted at the beginning of the second statement cycle.
3. They are both still open.
4. They both got the initial 25k.
5. The additional 25k for spending has not posted.

I'm sure you know what you're doing but...

1. I would think that closing the card before the statement closes would jeopardize getting the bonus, no?
2. L'mai nafka mina if I close the card before the AF posts or after it posts (as long as within 60 days). The law is the law, no?

If the annual fee posted in the 1st statement you'd have to lay out the $ and then get them to credit you back, as you probably won't be closing untill after the 2nd statement (when the full bonus posts).
If the fee would post on the 2nd statement there would be no need to lay anything out.

What??  ???
The fee posts right at the beginning of the second cycle. Are you saying you can swoop in there and cancel just at the very second that the first cycle closes (so your bonus posts) but before the AF posts? Come on. Even Moshe Rabeinu said "kachatzos."

I am totally not following you, unless you mean this totally in theory.

He only said Kachatzos so the slimy Egyptians wouldn't say "ha! ya, see! Wasn't exactly chatzos" based on their faulty sun dials.

He knew well it was exactly chatzos.

The annual fee that you got charged is not due untill after the 2nd statement closing, by which time you'll have your full bonus,  and will be able to close the card without needing to layout the annual fee.
Whiles if the fee would have posted in the 1st statement, you'd have to pay it and then request them to send you a check for the credit once you close the account, which won't be till after the 2nd statement closing as you need to wait for your full bonus.

You are right. Now, please spell out the parallel b'inyoneinu. When is "chatzos"?

Is there a "bein hashmoshos" where the bonus has posted and the AF has not? In my case, I don't see when that would be because my AF has posted and yet the 25k bonus points have not posted.

No, but usually the AF posts at the END of the first billing cycle. Here it posts at the BEGINNING of the second cycle.
Some brothers here are just confused.

No nafka Mina.
Miles post to Alaska you close the card, if its within 60 days you will either avoid the AF, have it credited back, or receive/request a refund check.
Next topic please!   :)

Yes there is a slight nafka Mina.
As he has not yet received the full bonus and won't be until next statement, had the annul fee posted in the 1st statement he would have had to pay it and request a check refund after closing the card. a small hassle avoided.

Argghhh. I thought we just agreed that there was no nafka mina? Now you have to complicate things? Ok, yagdil Torah v'yadir. Let's straighten this out.

Even if the AF doesn't post until second cycle, so what? It posts at the very beginning of the second cycle. When are you canceling? At the precise instant between the two cycles? Get out of here. And besides... even if you say you can nail the exact second... still the miles don't post on Alaskan for many days. Mine still haven't posted and my statement closed on Jan 11.

Am I wrong here? Please CMIIW.

You'll be canceling after the fee posted to the account but before the fee is actually due(which will be the due date following the next statement)
Had you been billed the fee on the 1st statement, you'd need to pay it on the upcoming due date, but now it wont be necessary to pay it until the due date after that (an extra 30 days)
