@meshugener and everyone else that was shut down -just bec you were shut, doesn't mean the AF was automatically credited.

I know someone that was shut down 2 weeks ago, and got bills in the mail today with a balance of $75.

Besides for that story, I know 2 other people that called to close the cards, and were assured by the rep that the annual fee was being waived. (And I believe it was indeed waived)

When their next statement came, there was a balance of $75! the AF was back! (Even though account was closed 2-3 weeks prior )

So everyone should just stay very on top of their accounts even after closing them/having them closed.

This is what BoFA rep wrote to me upon requesting that I cancel the account with AF refunded:
"Please note, the annual fee is an account service related fee and is a part of pricing features of the account. As such, the annual fee is non-refundable and we are not able to waive it. If an annual fee based account is closed and has a balance, there would be an annual fee assessed on it".

It has been mentioned on DDF numerous times that the law requires full AF refund within 60 days.

I am very curious about its existence, because multiple types of Google searches turned up nothing substantial.

And, do I need to convince rep to refund, or do I just cancel despite her warnings and the AF will reverse automatically?

You can try and then fight/pay it if it does not get reversed.

The rep even offered to reopen my cards after another hard pull, I politely declined.

Highly doubt it, they say that but after they pull they don't.

got the first full bonus 6 days after statement closed. it has been 5 days for the 2nd card since statement for that one closed and still waiting.

looks like Alaska airline agents are manually posting the 25k? BOA reports them but Alaska has to do it manually?

Anyone closed the card to avoid AF after getting the 50k bonus?
