For those that closed cards. Did you pay the AF and get/expect it to be reimbursed, or not pay it?

Thought it's the law if you cancel within 60 they have to refund you?

I closed my cards by SM, asking for a AF refund (I had not yet paid it).
The refund posted to the account within a day or two.

Don't know if it is the law... haven't been able to find a real source for that.

However, when BoFa rep didn't want to refund the AF (as I reported upthread), I SM'ed that this would be contrary to the law.
Rep apologized and refunded AF.

BoA will let me convert both cards to fee free but claims I will forfeit the Alaskan points already in my account. Is that true or just scare tactic?

You mean besides fleece them by applying for an offer that was targeted, and for which you did not fit the demographic, and likely doing it more than once, being awarded 50,000 miles per application, and then closing the card in order to avoid the AF?
