BOFA's fraud department is a pain to deal with. I had a new Alaska card, and made a couple of purchases in the $100-$200 range with no problem. The next day, I wanted to get a $500 VGC at Stop and Shop for the gas points. I called BOFA before I entered the store, telling them that I was about to spend X at store Y. They took the information, but told me that it might still get rejected. They gave me a phone number to call if it did. Well, it did. I called the number and it took at least 5 minutes to get the transaction approved. A couple of days later, I tried to enroll in online banking, but the system wouldn't let me. When I called, I was told that the person who had allowed my S&S purchase had skipped a step. A few days later, I called Citi about a large purchase I was about to make on another new card, and it went smoothly.
