Just got accepted for a $3.5k limit. >:(

This is my first BofA card. Any way to get them to raise the limit to $5k?

If they wont give you a higher CL, just spread that across 3-4 cards.

I thought he was nervous about splitting 3.5 line. Not sure why I thought that.

IIRC, you may get 5k per card under 5k, so splitting is not such a crazy idea...

I think your missing my point - you need a $5k CL, so splitting $3.5k won't get you anywhere.

Just called.

I was told that since the app was finished and a account number has already been generated, the only way to raise the limit is to request a CL increase, which is a added HP.

1. Is that worth trying?
2. Even if I do get it raised, will it affect the bonus miles?

Any advice is appreciated.

Same day won't be another pull

I called back, the rep's manager said that although multiple apps in 1 day will consolidate, but a "CC application" HP and a "CL increase" HP do not combine.

Either way, He also said that increasing the CL will not change the card to a "Signature Platinum" (25k bonus miles), it will just stay a "Platinum" card with a higher CL (still only 5k Miles).

Oh well...

What free card can I downgrade this to so I avoid the AF?

I got the impression on another forum that applying for 1 personal card and 1 business card at the same time will result in 2 HP; whereas 2 personal apps on the same day will only result in 1 HP. Is this correct?

Also, I read on a blog that when churning this card, we should leave the FF number blank, then later call to combine the accounts. Is this still true? Does this apply to getting a personal and a biz card, or just 2 personal?

To #1 yes it's true.

#2 I put it in and had no problem.
