Does that mean that in an XBM, the bank can see the pulls that happened 5 seconds before the current app? Kind of negates one of the benefits of an XBM.

Incorrect.

The bank from which you're seeking credit always knows how many apps you've submitted. That's not the supposed purpose of an MBM.

But, the fact that it affected the credit score so quickly. I thought the pulls don't post till the next day so that all apps will be pulling the same clean report with the same credit score.

Applied for both the personal and biz versions as a 2BM today. Both said pending on-line.

Called up, was told I was approved for one but not the other and he had no way of knowing which one was which. Strange.

Anytime you do a 3/bm you get 3 pulls, it's just that they later get merged by the bureau if all in the same day.
The only benefit being is in the long run, that you don't have 3 pulls..

It is my understanding, that if apps are done within a few seconds, you have a better chance multi instant approvals, as the first approval is not yet in the 'system'...

1) They see the pull right away. It helps in the long run as the 2 pulls get combined into one "hit" on your CR.

2) Another plus is that since you just applied for it, they won't see your new card on your CR.

Right so for point #1 it just matters about applying for both cards in 1 calendar day. Doing it within 2 seconds won't make a difference.
I hear point #2, but for me at least, they usually just end up seeing my apps as duplicates and give me pending anyway. I never did a 3BM and got 3 instant approvals.

I just got my business card in the mail today. Yay!

I also got two letters for a personal account. The first says I'm approved and the second says the same account has been closed. Anyone receive something like this before? I'm on the phone now trying to figure it out.

Also, no miles posted yet (it's only been 5 days) and I can't create an online account.

Finally, the letter that came with the business card says its 25k after first purchase. Isn't it supposed to be just for applying?
