Excludes Pre-Check but since about 1/4 of the time those lanes are closed to me at NYC airports I guess this is something to be annoyed about.

Maybe if your boarding pass says TSA Pre they'll give you a pass even in the regular lines.

Typically in those scenarios I tell the last TSA agent with the scanner that I'm pre-check and they stamp my boarding pass so I can keep my shoes on. It rarely affords me the right to keep my laptop in my bag though.

Yeah, bad for small airports and weird times flights. Though, in practice, I was always told to take out my tablet anyway, and I only ever travel with laptop/tablet.

Tablets are a hit or miss.
