I never did this but know people that have, they didn't have any issues cancelling. So for any DDFer canceling should be no issue and you get a free scale.

the issue isn't the canceling it's the way the give you the free postage (you have to buy more).
"$25 Postage Offer:

Yes, you can get $25 in free postage from Stamps.com; that is, with a giant catch included. Read the fine print and you will learn that only $5 of this supposed $25 postage offer is available as implied in the promotional free trial membership. In order to obtain the remaining $20 you must stay a paid member for two months after your trial period is over to be eligible to receive $10 postage credit for each of those months."

I would be hesitant to sign up. Don't think the possible hassle is worth the reward

I want to say you do a great job over at F.T.THANK YOU you have helped many, many people obtain great awards-- so I do respect your opinion --just not sure why you say hassle , as I understand the offer :

a) order stamp trial (4 weeks free) no scale
b) after points post or b4 they charge c.c. cancel
c) now have 2500 points -free
I know 2500 is not a  lot and can never compare to the 225,000 u help with but it is free and only takes a short time to sign up

any input you have can only help
