A passenger used a boarding pass found in the trash. CLEAR escorted them through airport security.

FYI Clear Referral Credit

I was chatting with a Clear rep (make sure to type "representative" in order to bypass the bot) to request a referral credit:
Per the rep:
Quote
If they sign up and complete the 2 month trial and pay for the membership, you will get 2 months free added to your membership. You would need to contact us directly once that occurs so that we can manually apply the time as there are no referral links provided
.
I referred my father in law in September and chatted with them today and was given 2 free months. I just provided the name, date, and airport enrolled. No other verification was requested.

Can someone explain what the "new" clear is?
How will it make it go faster? The only real benefit of Clear is that it lets you cut the line. The screening process takes longer/same as the 5 seconds it takes for the TSA agent to look at my passport and me (up and down)

I think it prevents you from having to wait for a pod which has been becoming more and more of a problem

Lately the problems wasn't pods rather Clear staff to take you from the pod to the TSA. So if this resolves it it would speed up things a bit, just not sure how you would get to the "front of the line" with out staff.

I did not see this clearly in the forum and if it is there, forgive me ahead of time. I got my AMEX $189 CLEAR credit, but the fee was $229 for myself and my wife. The first time I signed up, I did through United for $189 for both of us, is there a way to get it for this price, anything to do at this point?

How did you get it for $229 should've been $248?

acutally, that was a typo, the charge was $219. Possibly because I followed Dans advise and went through United when I signed up.. not certain. either way was wondering how to get it without a fee... even though it is not a large fee...

Any way to move someone from being a family member on my account, to their own CLEAR account? Originally did it as a family plan since as a United Cardholder, $109+$60 was completely covered by one Amex Platinum. Now that it's $149+$70 (renewing 7/13), I'd have to pay the $30 difference. I'd rather move the family member to their own separate CLEAR account and charge it to a different Amex Business Platinum where the credit is not being utilized. Anyone know how to do this?

I did not see this clearly in the forum and if it is there, forgive me ahead of time. I got my AMEX $189 CLEAR credit, but the fee was $229 for myself and my wife. The first time I signed up, I did through United for $189 for both of us, is there a way to get it for this price, anything to do at this point?

What did you end up doing?

I'm guessing 2 potential options are:
a) remove the family member and create a new account for them with a separate credit card.
or
b) Remove the family member, wait for the renewal on Card A, then switch payment method to Card B, then add back the family member.

Any reccomendation or advantage of one over the other?

Clear is upgrading to what they call next gen identity+. Seemingly part of this “upgrade process” involves verification via matching the name on your phone number’s account. Many people do not have this. There only alternative is to have a passport when upgrading which is good to know about is flying domestic, you may want to bring it for the one time “upgrade”. Also, I had someone with issues enrolling for the first time with no passport and phone line not matching their name and were not able to enroll even though this new system only rolls out Feb 1. Meaning “upgraded verification” is mandatory for new enrollment. Was told by phone rep that passport workaround isn’t even available yet and will only be a good substitute in the future.
Hope this keeps all informed.

What does "in their name" mean? If you have a line on a family plan what does that do for you?
