What does "in their name" mean? If you have a line on a family plan what does that do for you?
You can have individual names on a family plan is what they say…

United card brings it to $149 plus family member for $99

Odd. Not the greatest type of verification. So I have to make sure my family plan has my name on my line before the next trip?

Passport still won't work?

If next flight is after feb 1st. Was told in airport that passport would override the phone number issue but by phone agent was told it’s a future thing…

Does the full credit need to be used at once  to post on an Amex card?
Meaning, if I charge twice for 2 family members at $99, will they both get a credit

Just FYI:
I received an email that my renewal is coming up next month. I clicked "cancel" on the website and they automatically offered me 2 months free.
Check your bill. I did that as well, and was charged. And got this in an email
"Thank you for contacting CLEAR!

We saw that you've requested a 2-month extension, but your membership has since been renewed. At this time we are not able to give any further extensions.

You can now enroll in TSA Precheck at clear pods in EWR! No appointment needed. Assuming that this expands to all clear pods this is amazing! The big question is who is it getting billed as?

That means even more people at the JFK and EWR precheck lane... It's such a hassle that precheck and clear+precheck use the same lane at JFK T4 (at least IME, maybe different airports/terminals as well) when clear ambassadors push thru the precheck line every 10 seconds. I think it's time to add more precheck lanes at the busy airports or it's losing it's value.

Actually very interesting I noticed the past few times that the clear+ precheck had a line but the regular clear was basically empty.

because most frequent travelers who spend $200/year for clear (or have an amex platinum) usually also have precheck

I don't understand the big deal. Pre check was always available at a ton of enrollment centers such as Staples etc. Global Entry is the one that's inconvenient to get an interview.

Lately the clear lines are longer than the TSA pre lines, I think it's because they enroll people at the clear pods and it takes very long, they should make separate lines for people that wanna enroll.

It's the 'upgrading' and it has issues sometimes.

Could be for most people its not a big deal. Where I live OOT we only got our first enrollment center a few years ago and its a 40 min drive and appointment only. To me it seems so convenient to be able to do it when you're in the airport anyway no appointment needed.
