CLEAR is not sustainable. It took me 10-15 minutes today to get through security with clear and pre-check. I'm not complaining, it may have saved me missing the flight, but it's lost its dependability.

In order for them to justify paying people to walk you to the front of the line, they need enough customers. If they have enough customers, it loses the draw of no lines.

This is the line, to get to the clear line, to skip the security line.
120 characters? Hmm, I wonder what I could write with 64 characters. Boy, it's gonna be hard to use up 15 characters. W-

Clear + PreCheck is a lifesaver and worth every penny (especially if it's free ;))

They said Pre was unsubstantial too but it's going on 10 years and still very good...

They should stop giving it away for free :)

100%, but I would not be happy if I paid $180 for what it's becoming.

Pre-check is not sold as a skip the line service, it's sold as an easier security experience which it will be even if everyone has it.

With clear, if everyone is skipping the line, everyone is waiting in the line again.

Come on, the vast majority of people do not have CLEAR.  CLEAR has been the difference between making and missing my flights.

Absolutely. Currently it's still amazing but I imagine more credit cards will soon offer it like they all offer global entry.

All I'm saying is that if someone like Dan relies on clear to leave their house 55 minutes before a flight, they may soon not be able to rely on that.

My disappointment turned to jubilation as Dan graced the stage, and began to enthrall us with the tale of how he had booked his flight to NYC that very day AFTER the plane had already pulled away from the gate. Something to do with living in Cleveland, he can just meet the plane on the tarmac, or something.

Today at 4am in MCO there was a line about 2 hours long at regular security check. That wasn't going to work with a flight at 5:30. Even though I had Clear, my wife did not, so I signed up for a 14 day trial. There was no line and the whole process took 15 minutes.

If I have an added user on my account (which was reimbursed by Amex Platinum) is there a way to remove and add someone else instead?

yes, they get lots of customers in these situations walking up and down the seemingly endless zigzag of frantic passengers offering the free trial

Is the $179 credit on Amex Platinum credited once per calendar year or annually from the date charged? I'm asking because I want to cancel an account that was created in 2021 and make another one within one year

I have a $189 credit from my Amex business platinum. I want to renew my membership for $119 and then add my wife (who until now had her own plan which expired) for $60. Spoke to Clear on the phone and they said it will be 2 separate charges on my card.
Does anyone know if I'll still get the credit or will Amex only give it to me for one charge?
Thanks
