These won't qualify for 50% back with Amex, right? Because the outbound is operated by Lufthansa, even though it has a United flight number.

Based on the title it sounds like the OP is saying the ticket is issued by AC, not UA.

Sorry, I wasn't clear. The flights on the dates I want are issued by UA with a UA flight number. Outbound is operated by LH. Inbound is UA to EWR.

+1 AFAIK Amex only cares about issuing/ticketing carrier, especially considering that the LH-operated leg is probably a UA codeshare.
