Just to be clear I was asking about a rt

Doesn't matter. No one world airline stops in AKL enroute to SYD.

Is there any airline that would let me book ORD-NYC (Stopover) NYC-LAX, then return LAX-ORD?

Doesn't UA allow a stopover on a RT?

Not domestic.

How many miles would it be?

Any one world partner that I can book this with AA flights?

Why does the wiki claim that AA doesn't allow oneway bookings? :o

On us airways will I be able to book jfk-lax-mel-syd-hnl-lax-jfk if none of the stopovers is more then 24hr?
And would I be able to stop off in LAX on the way back for more then 24 hours?

Yes and Yes.
I called today and they said that the system won't price a stopover in hnl because it's not on the routing list. Can I HUCA this? And my agent also said I can only make a stopover of longer then 24hr out of the country (not on a domestic leg) is this true?

Lol @ US and their "routing rules".
HUCA enough times and you can stopover in SYD on your way to MIA.

Shoot did I mess up?
I booked a OW on UA with LH but didn't book the return bc there was no Saver space. Now I realize that when space hopefully open on the return, I will have to book it as a OW and then they won't let me take a stopover, which I had been hoping to do. Is my info here correct? Anyway to turn a OW into a RT later on?

Yeah :(
Except I might just keep it and book the return separately. It's not like there's award space now anyway. And even if I changed, they told me they have to cancel it and wait for my seats to come back into inventory, who knows in that time whether the rest of the route would still be available while waiting for the first leg to show up again.

Thanks for responding, but enjoy your time without spending time here!

That is not correct. The agent should be able to modify the ressy without releasing the confirmed seats. If they will release it there is a big chance that inventory will NOT go back. Especially if P class will be sold out.

Had a manager on the phone. But good to know, if it comes to changing it, I'll fight harder.

Don't fight. You will not win. You gotta know this phone reps. Once the say something they will never agree that they were wrong. Just HUCA and tell her (before she gets a chance to tell you that you can't do it) that you did it in the past and that you were told my a M&M rep that its doable.
