I'm glad the wiki is incorrect. I just did TLV-ZRH-JFK on LX last week, and was starting to kick myself for not adding on a west coast leg for later use.

There's a lot in there that's incorrect apparently.

I know VERY little about the SO tricks. I happened to know that LH doesn't allow a SO on a OW because I tried it myself and LH wouldn't do it and because DDFers told me about LH specifically.

Hi there, I looked up thread like 8 pages but I didnt see this

Just a quick Q about United rules regarding stopovers.
I wanted to know what their rules are for stopovers when you fly from the US to Canada roundtrip: do they allow for stopovers? also, if not, are you allowed to stop for up to 4 hours or is it up to 24 hours?

If it helps, heres the routes and dates:
6/25 - IAH to YYZ
6/29 - YYZ to DLH (with a stop in ORD)
6/30 - DLH to IAH (with a stop in ORD; this flight is within 24 hours of the 6/29 flight)

Im not sure if thats an illegal move to fly through ORD and return through ORD?
if it makes a difference, i believe all the flights are on United metal.

Booking using 35k SQ:

Outbound:
UA1021 EWR-PTY, 3:55p - 8:15p
--- 1:20 connection ---
CM230 PTY-HAV 9:35p - 1:10a, +1

Inbound:
CM231 HAV-PTY, 8:17a - 9:56p
--- 11:45 connection ---
CM490 PTY-MIA, 9:41p - 1:42a, +1
--- 5:18 connection ---
UA1131 MIA-EWR, 7:00a - 9:58a

Questions:

I believe I could make EWR the stopover and add another leg. What are my options – US48 only? Is there a limit on amounts of legs? As it stands my return is 3 legs already.

Also, being that the MIA connection is over 4 hours, does that count as a connection or a stopover (considering it’s a international itin)?

TLV-YYZ (OJ and Stopover)
EWR - LAX (Destination)
LAX - TLV?
If so, is there any chance I could convince them/the system that YYZ is the destination and LAX the stopover (might want to only make the return in J and this would maximize that)? I seem to recall someone posting a booked EWR-LAX-LHR flight

Do you know if an open jaw can be done by the stopover? (I thought not but don't know for sure). If not, you're only option for that itinerary would be to have yyz as the destination. As far as the odds of them letting you do that, I don't know.

I want to travel from TLV to LJU (europe) on Sunday then from LJU to NYC later that week. If I book with UA miles or Delta miles - can I get it for the TLV-NYC miles rate?
