HNL is your stop and LAX is an OJ?

No.

HNL is destination, and LAX is stopover.

So EWR-HNL is one side of the equation and HNl-LAX-SFO-EWR is the other side? I think I got it. But you can't get 2 OJs AND a stop on the same itin, right?

You can.

You can do EWR-HNL // LIH-LAX(stop)-ORD

Open jaw #1 = HNL // LAX
Open jaw #2 = EWR // ORD

Stop in LAX.

Wow, I see that now. I think the item that keeps getting me is that it's called RT but you're not ending in the same place you began in. Thanks for explaining. The next time I touch UA miles, you better believe I'm going to be calling upon you guys to help me think of something creative :)

Do OJs/Stopovers need to be booked over the phone?
ATL-SFO//LAX-EWR (stop)-ATL. Would that work?

I've read through the thread, but feel like I need to try and practice things to make sure I understand.

Let's say this year I have two trips ex-TLV: one to N. America and the other to Europe. In order to maximize the award I'm using, could I do something like
TLV-NYC-TLV (stopover)-Europe (OJ) and then book a separate OW back to TLV, or is that a violation of everyone's rules since I'm returning to the home country (I remember reading ANA doesn't allow it, but wasn't sure about everyone).

Because I'm returning to TLV, or for other reasons?

Can I book a ow with a connection and then call to change the next leg to a later date? Effectively giving me a free stopover on a ow? I'm talking about ua btw.

You can try. If you get the right agent, anything is possible.

Both. You can also try booking a round trip with a stopover, then calling to get the return removed.

A friend of mine is flying TLV-EWR-MIA (3 hr stop in EWR). Can he take his luggage in EWR and give it to someone outside and then continue onto his EWR-MIA leg without luggage?

Yes.
Not only that he has to collect his luggage anyways.

I was aware of that, i was just wondering if they would give him issues when he boards the EWR-MIA flight without luggage.
Thanks

Can someone explain this from the wiki:
Quote
Miles & More (LH,LX,OS,+:)   Yes/1 each way, not in origin region + 2 OJs
Could you use LH miles to fly on UA from JFK-ORD-LAX or is that considered the origin region?

I just booked JFK-LAX-LHR for someone online.

I would assume the other way should work as well.
Was searching this and remembered about this thread.
