first time poster here. i've been trying to get myself and my girlfriend approved after initial denials as well. so far, no luck. i spoke with the recon dept twice today about my app, but still get the "too many recent requests for credit" denial, having applied for the ba, continental + 2 citi AAs within the last 2 months (30 day apart for the chase cards though). the 2nd time i called, the csr also mentioned that i had just spoken to another rep, so obviously they keep notes.

just wondering now if i should keep calling or wait a day or two between phone calls. and are all the recons more credit pulls or do denials not show up as hard pulls? hoping not to have to give up, esp with the recent 50K bonus possibility. thanks in advance, great forum!

did u offer to cancel one of the other cards

then seems like all u can do is apply again if u can afford the inquiry

that was my next move if/when i was going to call back, just wasn't sure if people who've been through this call repeatedly or wait a while

u can just call again and btw before u offer to cancel offer to move credit

so called again and got a helpful rep, but need some advice before i call her back. she says that i have too many new accounts open in general and even if she were to close one of my older chase accounts (a year old freedom account) that the computer would probably still deny me. + i've got some 15000 points on that freedom card that could be lost. she said she'd be willing to close it and try, but it would really suck to close and account and still not be approved. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

update: called 3 more times yesterday and was about to give up when the last rep himself offered to move around my credit lines to get me approved. lesson here is to stick with it until you get someone nice enough/in a good mood. the reps before even told me that they tried everything and i was not going to be approved.

as far as the 50K bonus, sent an SM late last night and this morning notified that i am not eligible. wonder if this is worth being persistent about...

You can call the new accounts department and ask for your appIDs. Ask for app status and give your SSN, they will give you each appID and status for each app. Thank the rep, hang up, and call reconsideration with the appIDs

I signed up for Hyatt today and called up they said application pending. Should I wait until they reject it or call again. They said it could take 30 days?

i'd call back every day, they'll know whether you've been approved or not long before you get it in the mail.
if it's denied just keep calling recon until you get someone helpful.

The continental op card doesn't have a 5k min it isn't a world mc.
The op plus card is a wmc and has a 5k min.
The united visa signature card also has a 5k min the regular visa doesn't
