If it was a glitch then they probably can't get arrested but I'm assuming that they found a way to fool the website and not just a glitch.

There is a common misconception mostly be frum ppl, that you are not breaking the law if there was a technicality. - it's not halacha.

If they took advantage etc then it's theft.

Not sure what you mean. If for example I can stack multiple coupon codes to get free merchandise,  can I be arrested? Of course not. There is more to this story, looks like a hack of some sorts.

If there's a price mistake on Amazon and a thousand dollar item is listed for $1, and I buy 10,000 of them, I can get arrested?

What does Dan have to do with any of this?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

This is a major issue that frum ppl have with the law.  Particularly because they typically combine it with their assumption of what the law probably says which is frequently not correct anyway.

What does Dan have to do with any of this?
Dan is to DDF what Trump is to the country. And DDF'ers are the reporters holding mikes to Dan's face. How's that ? :)

Law is a prediction of how the court will rule.

In your example, I am highly skeptical that the court would rule that theft.

Now suppose you had entered coupon code that you knew you were not entitled to use, like it said UPS Employees Discount.   I'm not as skeptical anymore that a court says you knew you were doing something wrong.

  • Location: The value of a forum such as this one is not in that one can post a question and receive an answer, but in that the question has most likely been asked before, and the answer is available to him that will but only use the search function.
  • Programs: 1. Search on google. 2. Search in the right board of DDF with a general word or two. 3. Read the wiki. 4. Read the thread. 5. Ask away.
