If they really are dropping the price by $5, print your BP at home and save $5...

They're real idiots, did anyone here get the survey? I did (I did it twice) and basically there were 4 choices 2 of them were pro the fee (one of them was "I don't want to subsidize the people who don't print bp at home" the other one "I prefer less agents at the airport so we can have even lower prices" or something to that effect) next option was basically "I want to subsidize all those losers" lastly "we should raise the federal debt ceiling "(!).
They basically were asking the unintelligent to vote yes, and skewed it that way so they can claim they had a survey!!!  This just was like 2 weeks ago, so they obviously had already planned it before.

even if they drop their prices a bit, it's only going to be for the first little while and then they'll go right back to where they were, but the charge they added won't go away.

just like the fuel charge that they add on each time gas jumps a dollar. They never lower it, just make it more and more each time.

I've noticed that other airlines no longer match Spiritls fares (at least not like they used to), as they don't consider the prices comparable.

Not in the sense that you can call up and have them match it. But say spirit was running a 69 dollars + tax nyc-dtw on Tue and Wed for the next month you would see Northwest/Delta match it, no more.

Has anybody flown spirit airlines recently? They permit one personal item for free but  do they actually measure the bag or as long as it fits under the seat its okay?

I flew with them on Christmas Eve and had one of those Jansport backpacks, which qualified as a personal item. However, at no point has anyone bothered to check my item. Maybe it was the holiday...

When I flew Spirit last year, my bag looked on the big side and they measured it. But I guess this is a real YMMV.

Did anyone else get this email

Spirit Introduces M.O.A.S. - Be the First to Enjoy a Full Night's Rest by Trying Our New
Lie-Flat Non-premium Bed

MIRAMAR, Fla. (April 1, 2014) - Spirit Airlines known for pioneering low-fare air travel options throughout the U.S., Caribbean and Latin America, is pleased to be the first ultra-low fare carrier to offer full flat-bed seats. Beginning April 1, 2025, Spirit will offer travelers the option of purchasing a full flat-bed seat in a slim-line, light-weight design. Our Mother of All Sleeper (M.O.A.S) bed will offer an unparalleled flight experience in the belly (luggage area) of each of our Airbus A320 family aircraft. One hundred private suites among the five-hundred M.O.A.S. beds will also be available to purchase.

Optional Product Fees (available only in conjunction with purchase of a M.O.A.S. flat-bed accommodation):

•   Heavy wool blankets - $19.95 (not guaranteed effective above 15,000 feet)
•   Oxygen Mask - $49.98 (when and where available – not guaranteed on all flights)
•   2-foot bed extender - $299.99 (beds vary in length; typically fit customers up to 5'6" in height if knees are bent slightly)
•   Sleep-aid pills - $159.99

Available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Temperatures in the belly vary but are typically about 40 degrees Fahrenheit (think meat locker). Due to security concerns, passengers are not allowed to bring their own blankets. Spirit is not liable for any injuries or scratches incurred as a direct result of the use of any blanket purchased on board.

I'm assuming April fools joke but still not positive

When I got it I thought it was a sad joke for them to make - only reaffirming their status as the possibly worst airline out there
