I'm flying on spirit with a lap child and my wife coming back after pesach.  I'd obviously rather not pay the $20 to reserve two seats next to each other, outrageous.  Has anyone had any luck with customer service reserving two seats together over the phone for free to accommodate parents flying with children?

Otherwise I guess I just to have to shell out more cash on top of the bag and carry on fee.   I was actually relieved into find out that they don't charge extra for bringing a stroller on board.
