Got rebooked by Student Universe to JFK-DUS-TXL-TLV instead of JFK-TXL-TLV. The timing us almost the same.

but still AB, what r dates and why r u confident that those flights will still b flying?

They want the $$ for as long as possible. Don't know why so many ppl booked this, it was pretty clear that the airline was having huge issues, and even if you'd get a refund for interruption it can cause significant issues.

Fighting with a CC for a refund might not help. Once an entity files in court, all assets and liabilities (an unused ticket is a liability) have to go through the court process.

why would court proceedings affect a cc dispute?
someone paid for s/t that they arent getting- that should be an easy dispute to win.

does anyone know if it matters whether or not you paid your bill yet, as the law w cc states that you have the right not to pay if dissatisfied w merchandise or service if its over $50 and w/in 100 miles of your home state (if AB has an office in omestate- does that work? how bout if u purchased online?)

Call and ask them to rebook you on another airline.
Tried and HUCA'd and they are only offering alternate airlines for flights booked prior to Aug 15. Flights booked after Aug 15 are only getting refunds. I told them that a week ago they promised they would rebook us, but they said that rule has changed since. If anyone has better success, please report back.

Can someone please consolidate all the threads discussing the current AB situation into 1 master thread? It's very annoying to have so many threads at once discussing the exact same thing. Thanks in advance.

anytime you dispute a CC charge, no one "give you money," they just deduct that amount from your bill
is there any diff, legally, whether or not you paid "that month's" bill in full already?

Again, who's going to pay? In a normal dispute the merchant is charged but do you think that'll happen when the merchant is in bankruptcy. Maybe.

You paid for a ticket (some kind of obligation to try to get you from point a to point b at a certain time). You got exactly what you paid for: a lose promise. Now the airline filed for bankruptcy, which says we are unable to keep all our promises. The court will decide who gets what out of whatever is available.

That's how bankruptcy works. If you purchased AFTER the bankruptcy filing, your purchase is 100% protected by the court, and is not subject to the bankruptcy proceedings.
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

But disputing won't help. The airline should refund if you bought after bankruptcy. But the real loss is buying replacement flights ,

I was booked JFK-TXL-TLV on October 2.
They rebooked me JFK-DUS-TXL-TLV instead and claim the JFK-DUS is not getting cancelled. Is this true? If not I will have to call for another 2 hour hold.

I've been on hold with them for over 3 hours and no one ever picks up the phone.
Anyone have luck with getting through since Sunday?
