has anyone ever stayed at the
The Westin Diplomat Resort and Spa in north Miami beach?

was it nice?
kosher food within walking distance?
is it better to stay in Miami beach for any reason?

Never been there but it's supposed to be gorgeous. + used to be not to many frumies around so it didn't feel like ur in boro park, Florida like in Miami. But ppl have discovered it

It's a great hotel but there is no kosher in walking distance. I stayed there a few times. There is a great cash and points option $90 plus 4800 spg points

This hotel became way too popular so its packed with jews now. They have a partner around the corner to which there are actually shuttles back and forth. Called the Diplomat Golf Resort and Spa. Gorgeous hotel. Very quiet and peaceful. Food is not walking distance, but there is plenty within 10-15 mins driving.

Which is better the original Westin Diplomat, or the diplomat golf resort?

Isn't the regular Diplomat also right around the corner from shuls?

They are very different. The Westin Dipliomat is on the water which is a nice advantage, and they have a few big pools. Its a very big hotel. The diplomat Golf Resort is a peaceful hotel. There are two pools, one of which is off the spa. I sat there for a whole day and not one person came. Also a gorgeous golf course. I actually saw Scotty Pipen playing golf there. They are partner hotels so wichever one you sat in, you have full access to the other one. There is even a shuttle going back and forth.

Iv'e been there quite a few times and it is a beautiful hotel with great amenities (It's actually in Hollywood, which is very different than NMB - in a good way). The four points on Miami Beach does not compare aesthetically. People used to like going to the Diplomat to get away from other frum people on vacation but that doesn't seem to work anymore as the last few times I was there it was packed with frummies.
It's not too far from Shul and Eateries.
Miami Beach you are sure to be surrounded by Frum people but there are more restaurants, Shuls and activities and its alot more "happening".
If you are looking for a quiet getaway the Westin is alot better. If you are looking for a lot of fun and partying Miami Beach is better.

For all you C&P people out there, you can probably get the diplomat for $100 on priceline or hotwire.
Don't waste your points.

We finished our vacation. I dont want to be honest bc then this hotel will be filled with people I know...but...I truly tried to find something wrong with this hotel (like I do with all hotels) and I could not.

This is a gorgeous hotel and I can wait to go back.
Thank you to everyone who helped me out on this and talked me out of staying at the 4 points in Miami beach ..this was half the price and twice as nice.
