How can I know if a car for sale is a scam or not? The deal seems pretty solid and she put up a great story but she said she will do it all through Amazon and they will hold the money till I get the car. I've heard of such scams.
Is there any way to know if something is a scam or not?

When you are confident it isn't, it can still be. If you're not sure, it probably is.

Lol!
Few basic rules. They will always have a sob story why they are selling the car for so little. I.E. it was my son's and he died so I can't be reminded of him every time I see the car. It was my ex's etc. Next, they are always on the end of the country in a military base and as you know there is a special service that ships it to you for free and amazingly since it goes through amazon or eBay you have a free 7 day test period, so you can return it for free and get your money back, no questions asked.

Sounds amazing, doesn't it?

Many Craigslist sellers are scammers and many used car sellers are scammers,
Having said that, good luck!

She will do it "through Amazon" but will tell you to wire the money.

Scam.

I posted a used couch for sale on Cragslist, within a few hours someone emailed that they are interested in buying it and they said they prefer send a cashier's check. They did not even see the product and they already sent a cashier's check with double the amount that I asked for.
Not sure if I'm missing something or why he would do that, what kind of scam should I be expecting?

The kind that they get your money. If it doesn't make sense, stay away.

Counterfeit Cashier's Check. If you want, you can meet them at the bank and see them get it from the teller.
