Well, after explaining their UM policies which leads to the fact that this family obviously decided that these 3 can travel (and everything that comes with it) on their own, when they could have requested and paid for the airline to take care of them, Iberia is left with little to no responsibility here.

I would still expect an explanation as to why they weren't checked in in Miami, as well as to why they couldn't find better candidates but in Iberia's response they have sort of explained how they haven't violated any regulations.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of Iberia and these stories get me furious but I'm just trying to look at this objectively.

Huh? UM policies are BS.  Just because they were old enough not to pay UM fee does not validate the action of denying them boarding. Again, it may not be against any actual law, but law is not the issue here at all. We are talking common sense.

language barrier is the main cause of issue.
flew iberia j from tlv-mad-jfk a while back. 4 avios tickets and one lap infant. now, before everyone barks, there were plenty of open seats for the lap child on both legs. saved money/points booking this way. very difficult to stress urgency of complaint/concern with the spanish especially when was looking for comp for lack of ksml and other customer service issues. horrible customer service. language barrier and comprehension major resistance. cant stress that enough.
imho i dont think you get more than what they are offering because they seem to just offer comp, and then shut the case. maybe someone from the parent gives more attention but a social media storm wont do much in this case, especially with all the unanswered questions about lack of boarding etc...

I flew with them last week. Besides the fact that the boarding process is messed up both in JFK and in MAD I had no issue with them. Lines with group boarding made for very hectic boarding process, even in J.

Theyre Spaniards. Theyre lazy by nature. They will not do one ounce more than the minimum.

Just a few tidbits...Arrived in MAD at 6am. Airport was a ghost town. Not a single shop open. It took them until 9am to turn the lights on in the whole place. The IB lounge was as bare as possible....and the list goes on. The flight to TLV was 4:45 long. J seats were decent. Like Virgin America J minus entertainment system. Almost 5 hours in a J product and nothing to do besides stare at the 4 walls. No plug for my own device either.

If the luggage was checked through to TLV, the passengers had to have been checked through to TLV.
There's no way the airline would check luggage through if the passengers weren't checked in..

That has nothing to do with the technicalities of the story, and from the IB airport agents and CS responses, they seem to only care about the technicalities.
