If you go to a kosher supermarket it'll be much easier...
Any recommendations?  We went to one between Nogga and Daneli's...man was it expensive!

Looks like the shemesh pizza shop is closed on friday...looks like we'll wind up in Daneli's for a 3rd time if there's nothing else around.

Heading down Carlise St from Hotham St, cross street after Heimishe bakery (William st.) you'll see ANZ bank on the left corner. Turn left, head down, youll see Rishon Foods on the right. Big green building with parking lot in front, can't miss it...

If you're also interested in the Alpha chocolates, the factory is also down there. If its closed you can at least buy the chocs at Rishon.

If you need kosher imports, you could go directly to the wholesale place, they sell retail for much cheaper than in the retail stores, I think its only "kesef biMzuman". Get contact details at benedikts.com

Besides the fact that the range is much smaller (only products they import) its quite a shlep to go to their warehouse.
Seems its geared more to families looking for large amounts of staple products...

So is it better to wait til my points post and book everything with aa miles or sell chase and buy one or two tickets?

I would love to do hnl on the way but with kids its not going to work out. They don't jump into touring mode after long flights to put it mildly

IIRC it's towards the beginning, closer to Melbourne.

i dont know if we can do it.
we will be in sydney until tue
so my plan is too fly out wed morning and head straight for the GOR. I am looking into flying into Avalon airport which will take 40 minutes off the drive. I have to see if it will cause problems with car rentals

since i am going in the winter its a short day, so i think i can get to apollo bay by the evening
thursday we would do maits rest/great otway national park then drive down to the light house and hopefully spot some whales
then head to Port Campbell.

I was reading that Warrnambool is a good spot for whale watching - especially for the whales with babies - anyone know if its worth the extra time/drive?

the Grampians would add an extra 4 hours of driving to the trip (3 if we go to Warrnambool)
i will be with 3 young kids who will have already maxed their patience limit for the car and besides that shabbos comes in early, i dont see how we can do it.
we will prob be doing the blue mountains near sydney

CMIIW, but I think the Granpians are much nicer than the Blue Mountains (which I read people go to only b/c of the proximity to SYD).  Can't cut a day off SYD?

Hey Dan, Thanks for the great Seminar in LA last week. Lots of information! My sister (incl. Husband. Owner of Danelis :) and a child that's 3 yrs old and twins that are 18 months old) need help with buying tickets for my brothers wedding. Any suggestions on how to find the best prices?  Fwd: to me from my sister. I'm looking to book tickets from Melbourne to California on June 23/24   ( flying into LA, leaving from San Diego July 2 or July 3 to New York. )  This is for 2 adults, 1 three year old child and 2 eighteen month old babies.

Dan needs a return ticket to Melb from NY on July 9th, and for myself and the 3 children Aug  11 or 12.

We only want to fly direct Melb-LA,  and NY-LA-Melb on return -no stopovers in Sydney or elsewhere.

If you hook this up. The next meal in Melbourne is on THE HOUSE in Daneli's

Thanks!
