Citi transfers line of credit?
« on: June 22, 2011, 02:05:09 PM »
Did anyone here have experience recently with transferring a line of credit from one citi account to another, like chase does?
And did anyone get them to approve a account by trying to transfer the whole previous line of credit?

In short, does all the "shtik" that work by chase work by citi too, or not?

BTW, I have no idea why the citi 50,000 thank you points wasn't mentioned at all in these forums, although it's not the worlds greatits deal, but is indeed quite a good offer (even with the $125 annual fee).

with citi they can transfer line of credit only after you get initially app for $1000 they can then up it buy taking from another but if they cant app for 1k they wont close another to open this (thats what i was told by new acc. specialist but could be he just made it up on the spot like all other csr when they dont know the answer)

i forgot to add (a mix between  imho and ime) its a comp generated thing that tells the rep what your options are it can be "it" ( ya know what i mean when they say "it" wont allow me to do this ...) will give you the option of closing to open new one

Without a hard pull?

It should be a hard pull.

It's not as simple as Chase and Barclays, but it could be done.

Amex can also be done but there are certain restrictions. Cap 1 can also be done with closing out a card. BOA can be done as well.

That was my point. No big deal if he transferred cl with hard pull ime. I've done chase and Amex many times.

Sometimes it's worth it for the pull. Depends on the situation

Ask them to transfer you to the credit department right away. The front line CSRs are clueless.
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.
