Note that this is the older version. Ring Doorbell 2 supposedly fixed alot of the issues with the first version.

What issues were there with the first version? Is there also a ring pro v2? My ring pro doesn't reach far enough for wifi and I need a wifi extender just for the the Ring.

Not sure what the issues were but I had a friend that told me he thought V1 was garbage. I have had V2 for about a month and have been very happy with it. But I also needed to use a wifi extender (it was very choppy without it).

Why do u need the wife extender, doesn't V2 only come with wired option?

I'm happy with V2. The battery lasted me about a month on the first time around (wired requires 8 volt battery which my doorbell did not have). Video was choppy, got a $20 wifi extender and now it's great.

Which Wi-Fi extender did you use? I had no problems with my first unit until grandkids knocked it off the wall and it fell to concrete porch. Replaced twice with flaky results and losing connection. Also, I think a firmware upgrade or app upgrade resulted in incorrect indication of showing not hard wired when it is. My router is new, with stronger than usual wifi transmitters (dual-band) AC 1750 protocol D-Link.
