Ads on DDMS

I love how they match the colors to the posts too...

I guess I got to start adjusting my color on my website and hope it gets posted as an ad on dansdeals as it would match the latest post color.

on 2/6, I was charged and it still hasn't shipped 

This past Monday I asked what's up and they said it would ship on Wednesday (yesterday) and so far still nothing. I asked them again this morning what's up and still have not heard back yet.

i too bought wine b/c of this ad.
I received part of my order.
orderered 7 cases. only got 3. 1 in a garbage bag repackaged by fedex, all wet and nasty. not presentable at all for Shalach Manos.
they ship it in the standard wine box. not in a protected box like the other sites -  kosher wine and j wines.
can't comlain with these prices but only if i actually get it and in a timely matter which both those things did not happen. they claim they will reship overnight it. hope it arrives, in time and unbroken.

Btw, i whitelisted DDMS b/c of this thread. though i installed adblock b/c some sites are just impossible to navigate otherwise, i did not consciously realize i would be taking away $ from the websites i do like

I ended up getting it the next day on Friday 2/16 but it was delivered from a courier or maybe even a car service. I thought at first it was a delivery of flowers

Lots of good blogs have vanished and many more will in the next couple of years as the walls continue to close in.

I have no idea how someone could think that asking people to unblock ads is worse than a handout. You're not paying a membership fee for reading a site or posting on a forums, nor does it cost you a dime to unblock ads. Obviously when the ads look like Times Sq or cover your whole screen, they don't deserve to be unblocked, but otherwise what exactly is the issue?

The costs to maintain a large website and forum with big traffic spikes are truly massive. Income sources are incredibly fickle and precarious and I have no idea what tomorrow will bring. Back when we had direct relationships with the banks there was no need for adsense, but there is clearly a need to diversify income streams.

Yes, BH the site provides a good living for my family and JJs family, but if it stopped being profitable, then yes, it would close.

I'm not asking for donations, just think twice before you decide to deprive a site that you use and enjoy of a revenue stream.

Just saw this. Amazing that you even have to spell this out to people. Thanks Dan and JJ for everything. I always do what I can to support the site. It's basic menshlickeit, how someone can not see that is beyond me.

it's the click which shows that the ads are actually making people purchase products or at least visit the site.

Russian is my native language (sorta)
The ad is about an ulnlimited phone plan for calls WITHIN the US
It's probably targeting users who have russian set as a language in their OS or browser - or based on recent searches
