Which is a serious issue with adsense
This is one of the main reasons I make sure my wife is always logged into Chrome on her account, this way our ads and searches don't get mixed up. I'm happy to say that I can't recall the last time I saw an ad for women's clothing

I have one. And an adblocker. Dont make it as if the ads are needed to pay the bills. Asking for a handout would've been classier if you really need the money

Lol. You crack me up. I never said there's anything wrong with putting on ads. Just dont claim its need to pay bills and the site would go away without the revenue of ads.

Friday popcorn in the house!

Lots of good blogs have vanished and many more will in the next couple of years as the walls continue to close in.

I have no idea how someone could think that asking people to unblock ads is worse than a handout. You're not paying a membership fee for reading a site or posting on a forums, nor does it cost you a dime to unblock ads. Obviously when the ads look like Times Sq or cover your whole screen, they don't deserve to be unblocked, but otherwise what exactly is the issue?

The costs to maintain a large website and forum with big traffic spikes are truly massive. Income sources are incredibly fickle and precarious and I have no idea what tomorrow will bring. Back when we had direct relationships with the banks there was no need for adsense, but there is clearly a need to diversify income streams.

Yes, BH the site provides a good living for my family and JJs family, but if it stopped being profitable, then yes, it would close.

I'm not asking for donations, just think twice before you decide to deprive a site that you use and enjoy of a revenue stream.

Save your time, I don't answer PM. Post it in the forum and a dedicated DDF'er will get back to you as soon as possible.

Never seen the ads yet, but I'm not a clicker anyways. Even google ads are distracting unless its text only. I'll turn off Adblock and give it a chance, but if it's too distracting I'll just find other ways to support the site.

Maybe there should be an option for elite members or posters with a nice amount of HT's to turn off ads.

About 40% of the adsense revenue is impression based.

That works too :)

But we're always open to feedback on placements.

Does google see if their ad is blocked?
Whitelisted the forum on my phone and still not seeing ads.
Maybe google doesn't like me :)

If it's blocked then there's no impression.

Or maybe they do like you :)

Thanks for putting it out there. I'm not sure how people think posting blogs will bring income unless there are ad/commissions. I think people often fail to realize the costs as to many it may just seem like text on a screen, at no cost. I know I've taken from these forums, as well as the MS and therefore try to give back when I can, even if I haven't cost anyone anything. Once again, it goes without saying, but we'll say it again, thank you Dan, JJ and Co for all the time and effort you put in to make this site what it is.
Memories last forever, make them while you can.

I hate ads but one at the bottom of the page is no big deal. I for one would pay a membership fee but as usual I am probably the oddball.
