you could buy the airpods (which is what apple wants you to do), but certainly any bluetooth headphone will work.

i would venture a guess a very large amount of people being that the delivery time is already past 5-6 weeks and it started i think nov 4th....

My first order which was confirmed at 3:05 (basically right after the site started working) was 1-2 weeks.

I woke up at 3AM, ordered it, woke up 7AM only to a cancellation email from Sprint saying there was a system issue and my order was cancelled. Called sprint at 7:30 and place a new order and they said I am still within the timeframe of getting it next Friday.

I think its because most people go to Apple to order over the carrier, therefore the carrier will sell out slower
