You're aware that the only one losing out from your zealousness is likely the unsuspecting innocent purchaser that buys the GC from the guy?

The CC doesn't give a hoot, and it's their money. Why should you?

As someone once said

The entire process of reporting fraud and getting a new card shouldn't take more than 5 minutes.
And what about the merchant's loss? Seems CC companies stick it to the merchant.

I spent 3 min on phone with Chase and 5 with the detective.

Very unlikely anything comes of it, but I did my civic duty.

a few months ago someone had stolen my chase UR points approx. 350k, i usually don't check my point balance but somehow i just checked it the other day after it was taken out,  i called chase i was with them on the phone for 1 or 2 hr.! then they called me back it went back and fourth a few times finally they got a hold of the hotel were it was used to book a stay for a few nights in "Moscow" for 3 PEOPLE,  they had already checked in and finally the next day they were able to cancel the reservation and they got them out of the room.. so i was happy that they didn't got to much use out of it. but it took very long to get the points back into my acct. and then for the next 3 months i had to go through security with the fraud Dep when ever i called in, every single phone call was a big hassle, but in the end it paid out when chase reimbursed me twice on 1 card what had 155k points so i got an extra bonus of 155k!

Thats nothing! I have someone who stole 2 AUs out of my mailbox and went on a shopping spree. The first time I saw right away and he only spent like $200 The second one I didnt realize for 3-4 days and he away with about $2000 worth of stuff from pep boys, auto zone Duane Reade Toys R US, etc.

Amex doesnt care. They just credit me. I really want to catch this guy but they wont cooperate.

Its ridiulous that amex lets you use an AU without activating
sort of happy ending on my Stolen AU.

I got the 5k bonus points since he swiped more than $500 this time

Did you ever order a price mistake?
Who do you think you are fooling? You think you are going to pull a quick one on your Creator? Good luck with that.

No, no, no.

We're not doing that this here.  Find some other thread to debate the ethics of price mistakes.

Until someone uses them to buy an item or service. Then it is one paid for by the bank.
