I dont have a horse in either race, but dont blame brokers for getting shut down when you sell points, Dont sell points without knowing there is a risk.

The same way you want to make money by selling points the brokers need to make $ to pay you

Also if you are talking about the passengers who got screwed they should also know what they are getting themselves into. There is a reason you are saving 10-15% on your ticket.

I don't think he wants it covered up, I think he doesn't want it discussed on an open forum where BA audit team can see.

Selling points is a risky business, I'd like to think that the broker you sell to is yashrusdik enough to inform you of recent spikes in risk. If not you shouldn't be trusting him with your "money".

my issue is with him blaming the brokers and making it seem like the poor sellers are victims. Im not saying we should cover it up.

+1.  Points sellers should understand the consequences if they sell.  Most are simply ignorant. No reason to cover up.

I didn't understand it that he was doing that. He is saying to cover it up and that is what the reaction was to.

Many sellers did not know to expect to be told the risks. The ones who do know don't need to be told. There is nothing of real significance which is going to be revealed on this thread of previous ones are any indication.

Let's assume an average BA account has 50-100K in it. Anyone willing to do a deal on $xxx without doing some due diligence or at the very least asking the broker of risks involved is IMHO a fool.

I'm not sure that it'll do any harm, I didn't ask for mod action. I'm just explaining what I believe is DS request.

PS. CS 150k offer and the no lang link both got killed from too much talking.

That is a very different case. This is much more similar to the AA thread.

True. IIRC they've closed accounts based off of forums. Although BA isn't AA there's still a reason for concern.

That would be a question of individual accounts where someone said something stupid and not a case where its presence on a forum is problematic

The point of this thread, presumably, is to outline triggers and how to avoid them. Detailing avoidance tactics on public forums can be unwise, for obvious reasons.
