They may only be carried at SuperWalmarts or Walmarts that sell grocery items.
I've dreamed of cinnamon toast crunch forever so it was quite a treat.  Much better than the Cinnabon cereal IMO.

Great Value: Cinnamon Crunch Cereal
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Cinnamon-Crunch-Cereal-17-oz/11303903?adid=bzv_fb_revshr_001

Looks like it's actually OV Parve (Va'ad of S. Louis)

My local Walmart correctly displays as "Not carried" but the Supercenter I know that carries it simply says "Availability unknown"

Another parve product worth getting while at a Supercenter: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Duncan-Hines-Family-Recipe-Cookies-Chocolate-Chip-3-Pack-Club-Pack-59.55-oz/10449765

I know a Rosh Yeshiva that does the same...he'll eat them for desert after a fleishig meal

This is true. OU stopped DE after a child with a severe allergy died from something that had actual dairy traces in it. (I have no idea why he was allowed to eat DE with a severe allergy). But anything without dairy stated in the ingredients is indeed Pareve.

A family member of mine works for a Kashrus Agency and has told me that Oreos are in fact DE and he eats them after fleishig meals.

If this is the case then why does OU go through the hassle of writing DE (or D for that case), if they are actually pareve. I'm not taking a side, I'm just asking for a halachic/logical rationale.

I'm no Rabbi but I believe that DE is not the same as Pareve.  Pareve may be eaten with milchig or fleishig food.  DE food cannot be eaten together with fleishig food.  However, it can be eaten after fleishig.

As far as the allergy story goes, it seems the OU felt it is better to be machmir and call it dairy to avoid confusion as far as allergies.

Because they don't want people with Dairy allergies relying on the Hashgocha as medical clearance.
