OU-D, Dairy or Dairy equipment
« on: June 22, 2011, 10:31:20 PM »
the OU has stopped writing OU-DE on products and just write ou-d, now i've heard from alot of ppl that some products, like cinnamon toast crunch cereal and oreos arent really dairy, rather dairy equipment and ou policy is to write ou-d. any else here this? able to confirm?

They may only be carried at SuperWalmarts or Walmarts that sell grocery items.
I've dreamed of cinnamon toast crunch forever so it was quite a treat.  Much better than the Cinnabon cereal IMO.

Great Value: Cinnamon Crunch Cereal
http://www.walmart.com/ip/Great-Value-Cinnamon-Crunch-Cereal-17-oz/11303903?adid=bzv_fb_revshr_001

Looks like it's actually OV Parve (Va'ad of S. Louis)

My local Walmart correctly displays as "Not carried" but the Supercenter I know that carries it simply says "Availability unknown"

Another parve product worth getting while at a Supercenter: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Duncan-Hines-Family-Recipe-Cookies-Chocolate-Chip-3-Pack-Club-Pack-59.55-oz/10449765

It's funny was in target the other day. Their store brand ice cream has three diff hashgachos. Ov ou and starK.

According to the crc website ov is a very reliable supervision. On par with the ou.

I know a Rosh Yeshiva that does the same...he'll eat them for desert after a fleishig meal
