Do you forfeit your credit card coverage by buying CDW+TP?
Yes.

Another question:

How much available credit do you need on your CC in order to rent a car in Israel? Do you need all of it to be on the WMC, or can you split it between cards?

1 cc. Depends on the class and company but it's usually ~$500-800

Either you have a different version of the Continental card- or the lady didn't exactly know what she was talking about. I called and got the same response, so I told the lady I had heard differently. She came back saying that yes I had a WORLD Mastercard so I did indeed have coverage and sent me out a letter stating so.

I have the Travelocity AmEx (issued by Barclays) which states in Guide to Benefits "As an eligible Insured, you may receive reimbursement for repair or
replacement of the Rented Automobile as a result of Damage or Loss to the Rented
Automobile anywhere in the world."
https://www.mytravelocityrewards.com/app/ccsite/benefits/guide/F03-G514-9_Travelocity_AMEX_GTB_WebLO_0110.pdf

I called Barclays they confirmed every country is covered including Israel, but declined to provide a letter, saying it was unnecessary since the guide clearly states "anywhere in the world."

I am still unclear though how this helps save much? For example Thrifty Israel's T&Cs states:

To decline LDW & TPC, the renter must have a US issued World Master Card or Canadian issued Gold/Platinum Visa/MasterCard and provide WRITTEN PROOF that the card has relevant coverage for car rentals in Israel.
Nevertheless,if LDW & TPC are declined,Third Party Liability is mandatory in Israel as a minimum coverage to cover items that are not covered by the credit card company such as Blowouts, Tire/Trim damage not caused by Theft/Vandalism or
is not a result of vehicle collision.
Only US issued World Master Card or Canadian issued Gold/Platinum Visa/MasterCard can be used to waive LDW & TPC These cards will only be accepted for coverage for rental periods of less than 28 days in any calendar year.
If a relevant card and cover letter are not produced at time of commencement of rental, then LDW & TPC must be purchased.
Customers who choose to rely on their credit card for coverage are subject to an Administration Fee of USD15.00. This fee is to cover communication costs with the card holder company to establish cover for the processing of
claims and the supply of relevant information on rentals in case of damage.
If the LDW & TPC protection's are declined, a minimum security deposit of USD5000 will be required through the clients credit card to cover possible damage to the Thrifty and 3rd party vehicles, in addition to rental charges.
Maximum Security Deposit is up to the full value of the vehicle if the LDW & TPC protection's are declined.

The forced 3rd Party Liabilty + $15 Admin. fee mean you will very likely pay more by using a CCs coverage. I have glanced at other rental companies it seemed their terms are similar. Any thoughts?

Has anyone here attempted to get Chase to send them a Sapphire Preferred World Mastercard to replace their Visa?
