Thanks, but this is an AAdvantage card which carries an annual fee. My question is whether there is a free one.

I know this, but I have had this card in the past so I'm not sure I'll be able to get the annual fee waived again.

CSR at sapphire WMC informed me this morning that they no longer cover CDW in Israel.
I asked to speak to a manager and she confirmed.
Can anyone debunk this?

I have the world mastercard Sapphire preferred and received my letter of insurance from mastercard. You have to call before each trip and get the letter.

just called and confirmed SP WMC CDW works in Israel, letter in the mail to me

I recieved t&c for wmc in mail today. It excludes Israel and is not primary.
I don't think citi preferred mc excludes israel and it has no foreign exchange fee

I just called citi regarding my Aadvantage visa card. They said its a world card and it covers Israel.

Also, interesting to note, they benefits are provided by "citi insurance services", not visa.

I just returned a car here in Israel that was rented and insured with my SP WMC.
