I just received an email from Chase regarding my Freedom Visa Signature, they sent me a new Guide to Benefits effective November 1st, which doesn't seem to exclude Israel from the CDW benefit!

take a look yourself: https://dcab3c5ae55b46ebb809-593e1b92cc87a436fd7f0167d99df68c.ssl.cf2.rackcdn.com/Visa_Signature_Freedom_V0000019_BGC10319_Eng_P.pdf

PUTPAC and ask for a letter of coverage. Otherwise you're playing with fire.

See Dan's response here.

I just got the updated terms going into effect November 1st, the Ink Plus and probably the Bold too will now have primary insurance when renting out of the country, even when for personal use.

Will that change anything in Israel?

Looking o we the terms, it doesn't exclude Israel, though the terms are a bit vague. I assume that it will be the same as the SP MC.
Other benefits they updated:
Purchase protection, added year of warranty- terms look like they copied amex
Trip cancellation and trip interruption insurance
Price protection and purchase protection also like amex
Lost luggage up to $3k
Trip delay and baggage delay insurance
Etc.

I don't know how much benefits are new ones but overall it looks good

The old terms for rental insurance clearly exclude Israel, the new terms say no exclusions, seems like it would be the same as SP WMC.
That's good news, now I can finally churn my SP WMC which I didn't want to because I wanted the Israel coverage.

But still excludes personal rentals in the US.

The language would seem to indicate that but there is wiggle room for them to exclude Israel.
At this point I've been unable to get any confirmation either way and it seems we won't get any such confirmation until November.

Would obviously ask for confirmation when november 1st comes around.
But doesnt the sp WMC use the same exact wording?

Wording is meaningless. We'll know what this means when someone gets a letter saying that Israel is covered.

Yeh I know it won't cover personal in US, though it'll still be a big addition if it includes Israel. I'm sure theres a bunch of cards that cover personal primary in US, but this will be only the 2nd to cover Israel.

Most Chase cards seem to be going through this new policy.
So far Freedom, Hyatt, Ink Bold, Ink Plus, Sapphire Preferred, and Sapphire have been moved over effective 11/01.
If it does include Israel then all those cards will cover Israel.

I called Chase to convert Sapphire Preferred to Mastercard. The rep asked if it was because I plan to travel. I said yes, She asked for car rental? I said yes. She asked for Israel? I said yes. She said she remembered something changed recently and that it may no longer cover Israel would I want her to double check before I convert? She put me on hold and came back saying that she checked with two different supervisors (one in Mastercard and one in member benefits) and they both confirmed that Chase cards, even world mastercards, exclude Israel for coverage.
Any truth?

Probably true since my father in law went with a letter stating it would cover and the rental company still denied him

For rentals in Greece would the Ink Plus be a good choice?

FYI: I tried using my discover card at hertz a few days ago, had an email from them saying it works anywhere in the world, However the agent insisted on calling them to verify.

They said they do cover CDW up to 25K, however to the agents questions they do not cover THEFT, and therefore the agent refused to wave the CDW claiming you cannot purchase only the theft protection so i must pay for it all.

Just wrote an SM to confirm coverage in Israel under SP World MC and they said I have secondary coverage. Isnt it supposed to be primary?
