Android users: do you have this issue with Gmail Notifications?
« on: September 06, 2017, 04:19:35 PM »
I have an issue with my Gmail not syncing properly on my Galaxy S7. Sometimes I get email notifications and many times I do not. Upon opening the email client I always see the new emails. But I do not get notified neither via sound/vibrate, nor via notifications bar.
I have multiple Gmail accounts linked on my phone. Some of those accounts are linked to Gmail app AS WELL as the MymAil app. Mymail isn't always notifying well either but it ultimately notifies me more than Gmail.
I have auto-sync turned on.

What would be the issue here?

1) Too many Gmail accounts linked.
2) Accounts linked on more than one app.
3) Phone memory too full.
4) other (please specify).

Thanks for any advice.

Have this issue with gmail for many years already across many devices. I just use outlook. Syncs right away and notifies immediately.

That's a pretty good idea.
Yes, outlook never fails, and I never knew it was capable of syncing gmail. I just checked and saw after reading your advice.
That was basically the whole point of getting MyMail but it didn't fully succeed..
I guess I'll migrate.. Though it'll be annoying to discern of it's a gmail email or outlook (I have some outlook accounts connected already).

Thanks for your advice. Prob the best I can do for now.
Or maybe connect to generic android email client? That one doesn't either seem to fail.

If anyone knows of any other email clients which sync and notify without fail please post them here.
Thanks!

Don't think that's built in anymore since gmail added the ability to use other email services.  Could probably download  it from an APK repository.

I would try Outlook, first.

I love BlackBerry Hub for Android. It works great.

I have been having the same issue with Gmail recently.

1) I only have one email address added.
2) Never used any app other than Gmail.
3) Phone memory too full will result in not loading new msgs even when you go into the app and manually sync.

The only thing I can think off is that I did not update the gmail app for a very long time. which I will do now and see if it helps.

4)Other (please specify).
