Transferring Contacts To New Phone - Help
« on: September 07, 2017, 08:58:15 PM »
I bought this AT&T phone on Amazon  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Q1U31VI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Can anyone tell me how I can transfer my contacts which I currently have in my smartphone to this phone?

In a store. But this phone probably has a limit on the amount of contacts, so you might not be able to get it all on.

Thanks. Where can I see the max contacts it could hold?

Keep in mind that may be 1,000 numbers not 1,000 contacts. Meaning a contact with 2 phone numbers could be 2/1,000

Does that phone work with H2O or only AT&T Prepaid?
I've been waiting over 5 years with bated breath for someone to say that!

Would my SIM be able to hold some additional contacts on top of the 1000 the phone can hold?

Other GoPhones work with any AT&T sim, I don't know about this one though.
Workflowy. You won't know what you're missing until you try it.

Most SIM cards hold 250 numbers.

If I transferred contacts via bluetooth from one basic phone to another and now I have new additional contacts to the old phone and want to transfer ALL contacts again to the new phone will it filter the old contacts and transfer new contacts only or will it create unnecessary duplicates?

Chances are it will create unnecessary duplicates. My suggestion would be to transfer them all to a smartphone (or computer) organise them, then transfer them all at once.

Try, and if it makes doubles, then erase them all and re-bluetooth them.

Just curios do you save you contacts elsewhere? Should both of your flip phones go capoot?

So why not put the SIM card in the other phone and allow for the Verizon cloud to sync and add the contacts?

Had a 3G Phone with i bluetoothed all 300 contacts to another 4g flip phone, now when trying to import them all they all came as a separate vcf file so this is where this site came in to merge them and all and worked like a charm, saving me the time from needing to click import for all 300 contacts.

Saved to a folder, tried following what they recommended and put in c and then wrote contacts or whatever name on the file and then hit enter and then put the next command in like they mentioned and they merged to one big file, was really cool.
These cdm commands are one neat feature that a computer has, wouldn't mind taking a course on this.

 Here's what i followed.

NEVER go to the store. EVER. They will undoubtedly lie and say you cant transfer from smartphones to dumb, or 3g to 4g or whatever. and then try to sell you something instead. And tell you it's free anyway because you have a monthly contract so it will just be billed to your account. True story
