If you book online than it is no frills. If you book with a travel agent than you get two free bags and KSML's.
If you have a number of people going, I will be happy to take care of all the booking details for you (I am a travel agent).

Is it more expensive to book with a travel agent?

You can buy their tickets on the Chase Ultimate Reward Portal with chase points, which is nice.

More details? Same price? That changes things a lot.

More expensive than the no frills, no luggage, no meal, no seat selection, no one to talk to if something goes wrong option. Cheaper than booking the ticket with add-ons online. Can't say exactly how much more since it depends on the route but ballpark is around $80-150 extra. For that price you get two suitcases, a meal, seat selection and a travel expert to help with any questions or issues.

Would this have all the benefits that a TA booking would give?

I don't know what benefits a travel agent gives so I can't say.

Gotcha. I don't think you will get that. But you can always just purchase the "plus ticket" on Norwegians website. After selecting your flight, they offer you an upgrade that includes the bags and meal for a combined reduced fee.

I have flown them several times from BWI/NYC to Guadeloupe/Martinique. I've had a great experience every time, both at check-in where they are almost ridiculously helpful to the flight itself which is very pleasant in new planes that seem to have good seat pitch. And that's before you take into account that I generally end up paying something on the order of $200 for a direct non-stop to the Caribbean from Northeast in the middle of winter when everyone else charges min of $500 with at least one stop.

I haven't flown them to Europe, but based on my experience I would choose them over a legacy U.S. carrier in coach any day, even with elite status on several of said legacy carriers. I'd say they're way more like a JetBlue or Virgin America than a Spirit which is what I'd equate WOW to.

The route you take would determine whether or not you are better booking with a GDS.

Depending on bag fees. It may be cheaper doing bags Ala cart depending where you are flying.

I dont know why anyone would want to sit for 7 hours on a small narrow body 737 on an international trip. Its cramped and claustrophobic  and cant be a great experience
