I use the base 16-50mm power zoom lens. It's tiny.
You don't use any additional lenses ?

I have the base 16-50 wide angle and base 55-210 telephoto lens. Don't use the telephoto often.

For the LYR/LKN trip I borrowed some fancy lenses from B&H that are described in that TR.

I get that. But I'm looking for a great shot with good portability for travel and such. Also for taking pictures of the family. I read reports online that the cameras are essentially the same size when you take into account the larger lenses for mirrorless.

Wanted to hear others opinions.

The big lenses are for the full-year mirrorless cameras. The regular APS-C ones use smaller lenses, in general.

But if you're gonna invest in lenses w an aps-c, might make sense to invest in ff lenses so you can use on ff as well. The use of each lense may be different w the crop factor.

If you eventually upgrade to a full-frame you probably won't be going with Sony anyway, as there's not much room to expand your collection, as would be the case with, say, Nikon or Canon. So not much point in spending extra for the full-frame version, unless you know that specifically that you'll be expanding within that set.

Sony has some pretty good mirrorless FFs

Awesome price on a telephoto lens for your Nikon, to compliment the 18-55mm kit lens: the 55-200mm VR is on sale for $147 (normally $347).

I don't use HDR software, but if that's your thing the supposedly-best HDR processor is being released this month for Windows for the first time. You could pre-order it now at $89 instead of the regular $249.
