Can someone please help me in Plain English without any initials?! (you can use initials after you explain. for example-SW=southwest) I read about 30 pages of this and still cannot figure out 100% what I need to do in order to get the companion pass.
I signed up for 2 southwest credit cards and did not put in a rapid rewards #. I have one because I travel. How do I get all the points together after I spend $2000 on each card? It seems pretty confusing from all the posts that I read. Can I call them up and put the cards on my Rapid Rewards account or do I have to make a new one? will they automatically assign an account number for each credit card? do I have to transfer the points into other types of points first?
Thank you in advance for your clarification!!!
It's pretty simple actually.
Chase will assign a Rapid Rewards number for both of your cards. You can call SW and have them merge your other RR account with the one Chase gave you(you can find that number on your statements or by calling). Points earned transfer over to SW automatically. Once you hit 110,000 points, you will get your CP.

Please CMIIW* but doesn't having two merged accounts mess up the companion pass? As in if each account earns 55k for a total of 110k since they are separate accounts they will not get the companion pass? I remember reading something about this a while back.

*Correct me if i'm wrong

Not AFAIK. That's the point of merging them.
Can you link to it?

Thank You!!
I actually called SW and they automatically merged the two accounts to my previous RR # so we are good to go!!

"Companion Pass qualification will be based on a calendar year.  A Companion Pass Member will maintain his/her Companion Pass for the remainder of the calendar year in which status is earned, and the entire calendar year immediately following.  To continue their Companion Pass privileges, Members must re-qualify each year.  (For example, a Member who earns a Companion Pass on July 15, 2013 will maintain the Companion Pass for the remainder of 2013 and all of 2014.  Beginning January 1, 2014, the Member must complete 100 qualifying one-way flights or accrue 110,000 Qualifying Points by December 31, 2014, and upon doing so, the Companion Pass will be extended to December 31, 2015.)"

Basic Question

Of my 2 cards I so far spent 2k on each which gives me a merged total of 104k once the bonuses have posted.

If I wait to spend the extra 6k in January will that give me CP for 2014 AND 2015

No, the 110k points all need to post in the same calendar year, make sure the last 6k post before the end of 2013

highly unlikely, but YMMV; I applied for both two years ago, cancelled to get the fees back and they did not claw back

Hi, can anyone answer the following: if I have the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Plus Card and got the 50,000 points last time this promotion ran and want to make the 110,000 point threshold for the cp, if I'd just be able to upgrade my account to the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Premier Card and meet the spend threshold again and get another 50,000 signup bonus?

Thanks.

P.S. I'm new here, so if when replying, if you could please write any acronyms out in parenthesis so that I can learn them. Thanks.

Upgrading won't get you the bonus. You need to apply for a new card.
